HalaPlan ("we", "our", or "us") helps people organize social, family, workplace, and community gatherings. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services.

Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number (optional), language preference, and password.
• Event information: event titles, dates, locations, capacity, costs, and notes you provide as an organizer.
• RSVP and attendance data: guest names, contact details, RSVP responses, and headcounts.
• Payment tracking data: payment amounts, references, notes, and proof-of-payment files uploaded by guests. We do not collect or store credit or debit card numbers.
• Usage data: browser type, device information, IP address, and pages visited for security and service improvement.

Anonymous usage statistics

To decide what to improve, we keep anonymous statistics about how HalaPlan is used: which pages and features are used, and the country, language, platform and kind of device they're used from. Your browser also tells us how long a page was on screen, how far down it was scrolled, which of our main buttons were clicked (by the button's name, never what you typed), how fast pages loaded, and anonymous details of errors in our pages: the kind of error and where in our code it happened, never its message. They use no cookies or browser storage, keep no IP addresses, and contain nothing that links them to you. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, your visits are left out.

We also measure how HalaPlan is used with PostHog, in the United States: the pages you visit and how long for, what you click, how fast pages load, errors, and recordings of how pages are used. Text and everything you type are hidden in those recordings and clicks, page addresses are sent without the IDs, invite links and search details in them, and page titles aren't sent. If you're signed in, PostHog knows you only by a code that can't be turned back into your account, with your language, country, when you joined and roughly how many events you've hosted or joined: never your name, email or phone number. Outside Europe and the UK, PostHog remembers your browser between visits with a cookie; in Europe and the UK nothing is kept in your browser. Nothing is sent while your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. We don't sell personal information or use it for advertising.

How we use your information

• Improve security, reliability, and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Other participants in an event you organize or attend (e.g., organizers see RSVP and payment status)
• Service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email, error monitoring)
• Authorities when required by law

Invitation links

Organizers can share public invitation links. Anyone with the link may view limited event details. Please share links only with intended guests.

Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

HalaPlan is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised date.
