What's New

New updates and improvements to HalaPlan

Prices in your own currency, paid the way you pay

New

Each event now has its own currency, picked from where it happens: Kuwaiti dinars, riyals, dirhams, Egyptian pounds, Jordanian dinars, euros, dollars and more, with three decimals for dinars.

Hosts are also offered the instant transfer people use where they live, such as WAMD, Fawran, Aani, InstaPay, CliQ, Bizum, Wero or Interac e-Transfer, alongside cash and bank transfer. Guests still pay the host directly.

Every event shows where it stands

New

Event pages and cards now show whether an event is upcoming, happening now, postponed, completed or cancelled, and whether registration is open, full or closed. You can also see whether it's private, public or for a group, and who's hosting it.

Hosts can postpone an event, bring it back on its original date, or close registration, and everyone involved is told.

HalaPlan now speaks Spanish and French

New

HalaPlan is now in English, Arabic, Spanish and French, emails included. Choose your language at the top of any page, or let us follow your browser's.

Phone numbers from any country

Improved

Phone fields now come with a country code picker, so a Kuwaiti, Egyptian, Spanish or Canadian number is saved correctly and shown in a format anyone can dial.

"This weekend" means your weekend

Improved

On Explore, "This weekend" now follows your calendar: Friday and Saturday in most of the Gulf, Egypt and Jordan, and Saturday and Sunday elsewhere. "This week" ends on your last day of the week too.

Everyone hears when an event changes

Improved

When a host changes something guests can see, such as the time, place, price, description or rules, everyone involved now gets a notification saying what changed. That covers guests going or maybe, people who haven't answered yet, the waiting list, and the other hosts. Cancellations and posted updates now reach all of them too.

Tell us what you think

New

There's now a Feedback button at the bottom of every page. Tell us about something that isn't working, or an idea you'd like to see. We include a screenshot of the page so we can see what you saw, and you can leave it out. You'll find our replies under My feedback in your menu, and we'll let you know when we answer.

What happens when HalaPlan suspends an event

Update

If an event breaks HalaPlan's rules, we may suspend it while we review it. Its organizer is told why, and can't change it, invite anyone or accept new guests until the suspension is lifted; they can still turn down requests, remove guests and refund.

Guests are told the event is on hold, and hear again when it's back on. If HalaPlan has to call an event off, guests are told, and anyone who paid is marked for a refund.

Clearer answers when you report an event

Improved

When you report an event, HalaPlan now tells you exactly what it did: looked into it, took it out of Explore, suspended it or cancelled it.
