Frequently asked questions
Short answers to what hosts and guests ask most.
How do guests pay?
The host chooses how they want to be paid: cash, bank transfer, PayPal, or the instant transfer people use where they live, such as WAMD, Fawran, Aani, InstaPay, CliQ, Bizum, Wero or Interac e-Transfer. Prices are in the event's own currency. Guests see the instructions on the invite page and mark when they've paid, and the host confirms once the money arrives.
Does HalaPlan work in my country?
Yes. Each event has its own currency and time zone, and hosts are offered the instant transfers people use there. Phone numbers work with any country code, and the weekend on Explore follows yours: Friday and Saturday in most of the Gulf, Egypt and Jordan, Saturday and Sunday elsewhere.
Does HalaPlan store card numbers?
No. Guests pay the host directly. HalaPlan records that a payment was made, not card details.
Do guests need an account?
Anyone with the link can open the invite. To RSVP, vote on a date or sign up to bring something, guests sign up with their email so the host knows who is coming.
Who can see my event?
Events are private by default, so only people with the link can see them, and search engines don't list their pages. Public events are listed on Explore. Anyone can report an event or a photo, and our team reviews every report and can hide or suspend an event or hide a photo; hosts can hide a reported photo straight away. If you make a public event private, it gets a new link. Community events are shown to members of the group.
What's a host's track record?
On a host's profile, on Explore and on public invites, HalaPlan shows how many public gatherings they've held, how many guests came, how often they kept their dates and how guests rated them. It's counted from what happened, not from anything the host writes: who checked in at the door (or had a confirmed place and wasn't marked a no-show) and the guests' ratings. Only guests with a HalaPlan account count. A gathering called off less than 48 hours before it starts, while guests were confirmed, counts against kept dates. Private gatherings are never counted.
Can guests coordinate food and rides?
Yes. Add a food and supplies list with how many of each you need, and confirmed guests sign up for what they'll bring. Guests who are driving can offer spare seats, and others can join a ride.
Can someone help me host?
Yes. Add co-hosts from your account. They can edit the event, manage guests and confirm payments.
